The Southeastern Outstanding Roadster Award (SORA) is an award given to 1972 and earlier U.S. roadsters, phaetons, or pickups. Criteria emphasize, quality, design, and engineering. This award is given during the Southeast Hot Rod Show in Dalton, Georgia.
Key Criteria for SORA:
· Vehicle Type: Must be a 1972 and older U.S.-based roadster, touring, or roadster pickup.
· Appearance/Style: Must be “finished” show quality convertible. Vehicle can have roll up windows.
· Functionality: The vehicle must be fully functionable. It must be able to start, stop, move forward and backward, turn left and right under its own power before judging begins.
· Judging Focus: The vehicle will be evaluated on craftsmanship, engineering, paint, interior, engine, creativity, presentation/display and overall “style”.
· Display Restrictions: All parts must be on display with the vehicle.
· Award: The winner receives an award with the owner’s name and vehicle and the same information inscribed on the perpetual award.
·Judging will continue to take place with the car in its display area throughout the show.
